Sellers often have years of records that never show up on the balance sheet. For some established companies, licensing a de-identified copy of those records to AI builders is a separate conversation worth having, before or alongside a sale, as long as it doesn't conflict with the deal.
Who this is for
Advisors working with owners of established companies that have real teams and years of records in their systems, especially owners planning an exit. Which companies qualify is set by the program; see industry guides for the kinds of firms that often keep the right records.
How it works
- Raise it only with owners you work with who'd want to hear it.
- The owner talks to the program directly; you never handle their data or logins.
- If a Qualified Deal closes, the program pays the referral fee. It isn't deducted from the owner's payment.
Rules and conflicts to check
- A license can include exclusivity and other terms that a buyer will want to know about. Make sure deal counsel reviews it against any LOI or purchase agreement.
- Disclose your referral fee to the owner, and check your own engagement terms.
- Don't present a license payment as part of valuation. No amount is promised before review.
Never use bought lists, mass email, or touch company data or logins.
A simple, honest way to bring it up
“Before we go to market, one thing worth checking: some established companies license a de-identified copy of their operating records to AI builders. You keep the originals, checking is free, and your counsel would review any terms against the sale. I'm a referral partner, so the program pays me a fee if a deal closes.”
Referral fee terms
Greater of $50K or 6% for US-HQ companies on the first five Qualified Deals; 6% with no minimum outside the US; final written terms apply. Not a guarantee of income; see how affiliates earn.

FAQ
Does a data license affect a sale?
It might. Exclusivity, permitted use and the transfer of records in a sale all matter. Have deal counsel review the license against any LOI or purchase agreement.
Is the license payment part of the valuation?
Don't treat it that way. Any payment is separate, set by the program's review, and not promised in advance.
How much can I earn?
Fees are greater of $50K or 6% for US-HQ companies on the first five Qualified Deals; 6% with no minimum outside the US; final written terms apply, paid only on closed Qualified Deals. Not a guarantee of income.
